Michael deMeng The work of artist Michael deMeng is about transformation the common into the sacred. His assemblages are metaphors for the evolutions of existence: from life to death to rebirth, from construction to destruction to reconstruction, an examination of the world in perpetual flux, where meaning and function are ever-changing. The everyday object and the mundane can be readjusted and become seemingly sacred. deMeng’s work can be seen in galleries across the country and he teaches his process in workshops worldwide. His recent book, “Secrets of Rusty Things” explores his process and philosophies and is published by Northlight Books. Michael deMeng resides in

Karyn Gartel
Karyn Gartel is a self-taught mixed media artist from northern Canada. Although she has no formal training, her classes are known for projects that “real people” can achieve with out too much stress. You won’t find any high-tech terminology or complex techniques here; in fact, you might hear a lot of words like smoosh, slather, and glob…along with frequent use of the Canadian “eh”. Students of all levels are encouraged to take time to explore and discover the artist that is waiting to come out and play. The end result is a comfortable, relaxed, and playful atmosphere aimed at letting YOU discover your creative potential.
